We perform mechanical and aging evaluations for elastomers and polymers to verify fitness for use and compliance with drawings/specifications. Methods follow ASTM/ISO/IS as specified, with calibrated equipment, controlled conditioning, and audit-ready reports.
Test Menu (original items + brief explanations)
- Compression Test
Compressive stress–strain behavior and stiffness/modulus for rubber components and pads.
- Tensile Test
Tensile strength, modulus, and elongation at break for dumbbell/strip specimens.
- Load Deflection Test
Deflection under specified load (or load at specified deflection) to verify part stiffness and functional performance (per drawing or product standard).
- Shore A Hardness
Durometer hardness for soft elastomers (Shore A scale) to confirm compound hardness and batch consistency.
- Tear Strength
Resistance to tear initiation/propagation using standardized specimens.
- Aging
Thermal/air-oven or fluid/chemical exposure (as specified) followed by re-testing of hardness, tensile, elongation, and mass/volume to quantify degradation (e.g., thermal aging practices or immersion protocols).
- Polymer Identification and Change in Volume
Identification of polymer type (e.g., spectroscopic screening where specified) and volume change after immersion in designated media (oils/fuels/coolants/chemicals) to assess compatibility (e.g., methods per applicable standards or client spec).
